Berry Hill Restaurant - Darby's Tavern

Dining Room at Berry Hill

"The Dining Room" at Berry Hill Plantation Resort was renovated by Strategic Redevelopment, LLC in the Spring of 2005. The Dining Room seats 100 people prior to the renovation and it can now seat 150 people. The main focus of the renovation was to convert the outdoor terrace that adjoins the dinning room to year round space. To accomplish this Strategic Redevelopment, LLC had enclosures designed that can be installed throughout the changes in seasons. This, in conjunction with the addition of a larger power supply that can run a cooling system in the warmer months and a heating systems in the cooler months. The additional power can also support bands, pa systems, ect. In addition to the seating space we also installed new equipment that would increase productivity in the kitchen.

Darby's Tavern

Darby's Tavern is located in South Boston, VA. Strategic Redevelopment, LLC started Construction on Darby's Tavern in July 2005. Working with the design team from 3 North, leaded by Architect David Rau, we completed the construction of this full service tavern and restaurant prior to the grand opening in September, 2005.

This project was very unique to say the least. Strategic Redevelopment, LLC was hired to renovate a building that was built in 1843. Not only did we obtain normal building permits but we also have to work with the Virginia Department of Historic Recourses for approvals since this building is on the National Historic Registry.

The construction of the tavern included the fabrication and installation of custom moldings and casework with up lighting, the bar is made out of oak, the back bar and table tops are veneered with tin (also fabricated on site), full audio and media, and bar equipment.
